What is an eccentric press used for?
A tablet pressing machine plays an integral role in today’s world where a large number of products are dispensed in the form of tablets. This makes a tablet machine an indispensable piece of equipment in the compaction industry.
A tablet press is an electromechanical device that uses compressive force to transform powder into tablets of uniform sizes and thicknesses. Depending on the nature of the application, you can use it to make cleaning products, cosmetics or pharmaceutical products…
At Bonals Technologies we aim to provide versatile equipment, from low to high speed, automated and easy to maintain.
How does an eccentric press work?
Eccentric presses work when a flywheel is driven by an electric motor through a belt drive. At this moment, the movement is transmitted through a small and a large gear wheel, which will be mounted on the eccentric shaft. In short, these presses use a connecting rod that is implemented by means of a crankshaft. The flywheel at the top of the machine is rotated by an electric motor, and when the action is performed, the clutch connects the flywheel shaft to the crankshaft and applies its full force.
Features of an eccentric press
It should be noted that this type of press has an advantage over the rest, since it is faster, cheaper and more productive.
Specifically, they have a series of main characteristics:
- Fixed stroke length: they usually have a fixed stroke, although it is true that many manufacturers offer eccentric presses with variable stroke length.
- The work energy depends on the mass and speed of the flywheel.
- Simplicity of configuration and operation.
- High accuracy.
- Cheaper cost.
In addition, it can also be highlighted:
- The ease of handling the machine for the operator
- Great security when applying or exercising force
- It allows the quicker manufacturing of different products
- Greater precision
